چکیده

A mathematical model for the formation of condensation aerosols from highly supersaturated vapor-air mixtures is presented. The suitable systems with very high nucleation rates that result in aerosol mass densities >1 g/m3. It accounts nucleation, non-isothermal condensation, coagulation and indirectly coalescence newly formed particles. applies kinetic theory to determine rate treats separate stages, but both are coupled condensation. statistical approach based on Weibull function used estimate size distribution droplets (particles). has been applied study glycerol Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems. qualitatively reproduces observed trend particle decreases as puff flow increases. Within framework, at lower higher concentrations occur leading which larger aerosol. Copyright © 2021 American Association Aerosol Research

Explosion properties of aerosol/air mixtures

Combustion hazards associated with liquid fuels are often categorized in terms of the fuel’s flashpoint. However, in hazard scenarios where high-flashpoint fuel is released under pressure, jet breakup and aerosol formation will result. In these cases, this simplistic method of combustion hazard classification may be not sufficient and then alternative approaches are required. As for gases and d...

Water uptake of clay and desert dust aerosol particles at sub- and supersaturated water vapor conditions.

Airborne mineral dust particles serve as cloud condensation nuclei (CCN), thereby influencing the formation and properties of warm clouds. It is therefore of atmospheric interest how dust aerosols with different mineralogy behave when exposed to high relative humidity (RH) or supersaturation (SS) with respect to liquid water. In this study the subsaturated hygroscopic growth and the supersatura...

Third Virial Coefficient for Air-Water Vapor Mixtures*

The third interaction virial coefficient Caww for a ir-water vapor mixtures is estimated in the temperature range 0 to 100 °C, by means of an approximate method based on molec ular assoc iation . The res ult s are believed accurate to within a fac tor of two. The value of CawlV can be combined with prev ious es timates of the other interaction coefficient C",m and the values of the third virial...

Existence of self-similar evolution of crystals grown from supersaturated vapor

In [GR1] we considered a model of crystals grown from supersaturated vapor. We established existence of solutions to the evolution equations. Here we want to construct a special kind of maximal solutions, namely a self-similar motion. Our work was motivated by experiments. Namely, in their laboratory Gonda and Gomi [GoG] have grown specimens of elongated prisms of ice crystals similar to those ...

Evolution of Water Vapor Concentrations and Stratospheric Age of Air in Coupled Chemistry-Climate Model Simulations

Stratospheric water vapor concentrations and age of air are investigated in an ensemble of coupled chemistry-climate model simulations covering the period from 1960 to 2005. Observed greenhouse gas concentrations, halogen concentrations, aerosol amounts, and sea surface temperatures are all specified in the model as time-varying fields. The results are compared with two experiments (time-slice ...
